Field Trip: The children are very excited about the upcoming field trip. Please send the form and money to school by Monday, September 23. The cost of the tour is $ 6.00 and this includes a small bag of apples, a pumpkin, a snack of cider and donuts, going to a hayride and playing on the playground. I have heard it is a wonderful place to visit!
Your child will have to bring his/her own lunch and drink (no glass bottles , please)
Also, we won’t return to school until 3:45 p.m. Please have someone at school to pick up your child.
Reading News: The children are doing a great job with CAFE read-to-self time . It is very impressive to see the level they are reading at! Another new exciting reading component this year is Raz Kidz . This is a program that children log on to, on the computer. They are sent to a "book room" which has a range of books that can be chosen . For example, if your child is reading a letter J , he / she may have the range of H - K to choose from. The children alternate between listening and reading stories found there. Later in the year , I'll add tasks for them - they will read and answer questions on the computer. I'm expecting the kids to have a lot of growth in reading this year!
Mathematics: Your child should have brought home to his / her "beginning of year " test. That test covered basic knowledge of first quality. I've noticed that some of the questions that unvaccinated children in that test , now being done correctly in their notebooks. So far we have worked in the missing numbers , adding money (dollars and coins) , using a calculator and tell time.
